Practice your teacher's sight word list

  • Type in any weekly list from school
  • Teacher words stay separate from extra practice
  • Unmastered words carry into next week
Try Sightseed

Set up this week's words in four steps

  • 1. Add your child

A first name and grade are enough to begin.

  • 2. Enter the teacher's words

Type a short list, like β€œthe, said, was, you, are.”

  • 3. Add interests (optional)

Sentences can mention things your child loves.

  • 4. Start practicing

Your child moves through each round at their own pace.

What makes teacher lists easier

  • Teacher words stay separate

Dolch, Fry, and other starter lists are optional extra practice. Filter Home and Progress by Teacher or Extra.

  • Last week isn't lost

Words not yet mastered carry forward, and past weekly lists stay available.

  • Progress stays with the word

Reassigning a familiar word never resets what your child has practiced.

  • See what needs another try

First-try answers, retries, hints, and later-day recognition, with suggestions for what to practice.

A reason to return to practice

Each finished practice session earns a drop of water for your child's private garden. They choose which flower or vegetable to water, and a bunny shares the scene.

Questions parents ask

Can I enter any custom sight words?

You can type your own words in Weekly setup, separated by commas. Sentence activities use reviewed content where available; unsupported words stay in word-only practice.

Will teacher words be mixed up with extra practice?

Weekly setup keeps Teacher's words and Extra practice separate. Home and Progress offer Teacher and Extra filters. Teacher assignments take priority, and the same word retains one progress record.

What happens when the teacher sends a new list?

Create or edit the week's assignment. Words from the previous week that are not yet mastered carry forward, and past weekly lists remain available to review.

Do I need a teacher account or school connection?

No. A parent enters the list. Sightseed does not connect to your school, require a teacher login, or send your child's progress to a teacher.

Can I print the weekly words?

Yes. Weekly setup includes printable flashcards for the words you have selected. You can use them away from the screen for practice together.
